What is DealVelo?
DealVelo is an educational financial modeling platform designed for learning about business acquisitions, leveraged buyouts (LBOs), and M&A transactions. It provides tools for building pro forma models, analyzing deal structures, and calculating returns—all for educational and exploratory purposes.

DealVelo is designed for acquisition entrepreneurs, searchers, students, and anyone interested in learning about small business acquisitions and LBO modeling. Whether you're exploring your first deal or teaching financial modeling, our platform simplifies the process.
Is DealVelo free?
We offer a Free plan with limited features (up to 2 repositories) to get started. For full access, our Basic plan is $29/month and Pro plan is $79/month. See our Pricing page for complete details.
Do I need financial modeling experience?
No! DealVelo is designed to be beginner-friendly with guided workflows, tooltips, and comprehensive documentation. However, basic understanding of financial statements (P&L, balance sheet) is helpful.
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Go to Settings → Billing → Change Plan. You can upgrade immediately (prorated billing) or downgrade at the end of your billing cycle. Changes take effect based on your selection.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes! You can cancel your subscription at any time through Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of your paid period, then automatically downgrades to Free plan.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through our secure payment processor, Stripe. We do not have access to your full card details.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you're not satisfied, contact support@dealvelo.com within 14 days of purchase to discuss options.
What is the recommended workflow?
Follow these steps: (1) Upload Historical Financials to create a Target Business, (2) Create Model to configure capital structure, (3) Create Repository to set up your deal workspace, (4) Work through repository sections in order (Deal Snapshot → Pro Forma → Sources & Uses → FCF → Debt Paydown → Equity Returns).
Why are my sections locked?
Sections must be completed in order because later sections depend on data from earlier ones. Complete the Deal Snapshot first, then proceed through Pro Forma, Sources & Uses, etc. The section flow guide at the top shows your progress.
Can I export my models?
Yes! You can export data to Excel, CSV, or JSON formats from any repository. Click the "Export" button in the repository header.
How do I delete a repository or model?
From the Home dashboard, click the trash icon on any card (Target Business, Acquisition Model, or Repository) to delete it. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
My calculations look wrong. What should I check?
Verify that: (1) All previous sections are complete, (2) Your inputs are in the correct format (e.g., percentages as decimals), (3) Exit date and hold period are set correctly in Deal Snapshot, (4) Debt service and cash sweep settings are accurate. If issues persist, contact support with screenshots.
The platform is running slowly. What can I do?
Try: (1) Refreshing your browser, (2) Clearing browser cache, (3) Using a different browser (Chrome recommended), (4) Checking your internet connection. If issues persist, contact support@dealvelo.com.
I can't log in. What should I do?
First, try the "Forgot Password" link to reset your password. If that doesn't work, check that: (1) You're using the correct email, (2) Your account isn't locked (too many failed attempts—wait 15 minutes), (3) You're not using an expired session. Still stuck? Email support@dealvelo.com.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet! DealVelo is currently web-based and optimized for desktop/laptop use. The platform works on tablets and larger mobile devices but is best experienced on a larger screen due to the complexity of financial modeling.
Is my financial data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We use AWS infrastructure with enterprise-grade security, and all servers are in secure US data centers. See our Security page for full details.
Who can see my deal models?
Only you. Your financial models, repositories, and uploaded data are 100% private and accessible only to your account. We do not share, sell, or view your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my account and data?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes all your data within 30 days (except billing records required by law for 7 years). You can export your data before deletion.
Do you sell my data to third parties?
Absolutely not. We NEVER sell your data. We only share data with trusted service providers (AWS, Stripe) as necessary to provide the service. See our Privacy Policy for full transparency.
